As summer draws to a close and the leaves turn golden brown, our chefs have been busy preparing the new Friday Supper Club menu for autumn. We’re continuing with our winning formula of a set menu and weekly specials, with plenty of choice for diners with all dietary preferences and special requirements. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff are always very happy t0 provide additional information about the dishes, and please call ahead if you have a particular allergy or intolerance we need to cater for.

A starring role for Heaven Scent Kitchen at Edinburgh Festival

Heaven Scent Kitchen‘s delicious finger buffet recently took centre stage at the Edinburgh Festival, wowing 400 guests over 4 days as part of a play at Summerhall, one of the UK’s biggest multi-arts complexes.

When an Italian theatre company approached us for sandwiches, tray bakes, nibbles, bottles of Prosecco and a chocolate cake to be baked to exacting specifications, we jumped at the chance. We’re always up for a challenge and a new adventure, and were excited to be involved in such an innovative and exciting project.

We worked closely with the company director to ensure the food would work well as part of the play, and our talented local baker Barbara pulled out all the stops once again to ensure the knife prop stayed upright in the cake – an essential part of the plot!

It took three members of staff four hours every every day to deliver the food, walk up (what seemed like) thousands of steps to the Upper Church Space, organise the crockery and lay out all the food to an exacting specification.

But we did it, and we loved it!

Coach House Spa at beautiful Kinross House and multi-award winning Heaven Scent have teamed up to create the ultimate pampering experience – a relaxing treatment followed by delicious afternoon tea.

The afternoon tea consists of finger sandwiches on speciality bread, freshly baked scones served with Perthshire raspberry jam and clotted cream, gateaux, tray bakes and French macarons, and is included with packages such as “Thursday Night Delight”, “Me and My Best Friend” and “Spa-Plicity”.

The trust and faith that Kinross House has put in Heaven Scent reflects how successfully we’re growing as a brand. The Spa is a sensational venue, and the Heaven Scent team has really enjoyed creating the perfect afternoon tea to suit the prestigious surroundings.

A pamper session followed by mouth-watering cake – what more could anyone wish for?!

FreeFrom Eating Out Awards

Heaven Scent has applied for the “FreeFrom Eating Out Awards“, the UK’s only awards dedicated to eateries who cater for customers with special dietary requirements. We’re passionate about catering for customers with all dietary requirements, and these awards are a great benchmark for good practice.

We were the only Scottish finalist in last year’s awards, and since then we’ve made further improvements to our gluten, dairy and egg free menu choices as well as the way food is sourced and prepared, so we’re feeling confident! However, in our “Cafes & Teashops” categories we’re up against coffee shops similar to us but which offer menus which are wholly gluten free.

Fingers crossed…and watch this space!

Andrew wins…Outstanding Contribution to Scottish Hospitality

Andrew Scott holding trophyAndrew Scott has won the prestigious “Outstanding Contribution to Scottish Hospitality” category at the Scottish Hospitality & Entertainment Awards 2016, held on Sunday 8th May in Glasgow.

This category, designed to recognise an individual who has become a staple in the Scottish hospitality scene and encompasses everything hospitality needs to be, was new for 2016 and one of the most hotly contested awards of the evening.

Andrew says “I’m absolutely delighted to win. I’ve worked in hospitality all my life, in various hotels, restaurants, Hospitality awardspubs, bistros and bars for 12 years before taking the plunge and setting up my own business in Milnathort 13 years ago. It’s hard work, but I love it and to be acknowledged in this way makes it all worthwhile”.

He adds “Scotland is renowned for its warm welcome and hospitality is ingrained in our culture. I’m both humbled and honoured for my personal contribution to be recognised in front of the country’s finest talent.”

Andrew is well known for his quirky, award-winning Heaven Scent brand with its artisan coffee shop, outside catering
business, unique events and meeting space and restaurant at Knockhill, Scotland’s premier racing circuit. 18 months Andrew at awards ceremony - Copy (2)ago he set up Victus Consultancy, putting his invaluable knowledge, skill and expertise to good use to help businesses in need of support, guidance and advice.

Winning this award is testament to Andrew’s passion and love of the hospitality industry, and every one here at Heaven Scent is extremely proud of this well-deserved recognition.

Supper Club relaunched

IMG_9910 2By popular demand, our weekly Supper Club has changed days to Friday and we have introduced a fixed menu with ever changing specials.

We’ve worked hard to produce a unique yet crowd pleasing menu which appeals to vegetarians and meat lovers alike. We’ve also included plenty of gluten free options, and dishes can be adapted to suit other dietary requirements.

In line with our “Taste our Best” accreditation, food is as seasonal and locally sourced as possible. and the menu will change every season to reflect the very best ingredients on offer for the time of year.

Outstanding contribution finalist!

AwardsAndrew Scott has just been announced as one of only two finalists in the closely fought category of “Outstanding Contribution to the Scottish Hospitality Industry” in the 2016 Hospitality and Entertainment Awards.

This award recognises individuals who have become a staple in the Scottish hospitality scene and who encompass everything hospitality needs to be – which is Andrew to a tee! Andrew now faces a rigorous round of interviews with the judging panel, and the winner will be announced at the VIP finalists ceremony in Glasgow on 8th May.

MC 2Following an incredible year in which Andrew Scott launched Heavens Above and Victus Consultancy, and won multiple awards for Heaven Scent and Heaven Scent Kitchen, Andrew has been nominated for “Outstanding Contribution to the Scottish Hospitality Industry 2016” at the Entertainment & Hospitality Awards.
