Friendly cafe with very tasty food
“I took my elderly Mum to this cafe on Monday. She loved the lentil soup and I loved the veggie breakfast. Then Mum said she would like a piece of chocolate cake for afters. Wow! What a generous portion. She said it was really tasty and enjoyed it so much. Friendly helpful staff on hand to help us in and out through the door. Thank you!”

Out of the pouring rain
My wife and I ventured in on a very damp November day. Packed as always however a table had just left so we were in luck. We bothered ordered the small all day breakfast however with different selections of produce. The sausages, bacon and haggis were amazing. I know they change the sausages every now and then between local suppliers but these today were exceptional. My wife thoroughly enjoyed hers also and had a pot of earl grey to wash it down. The service was great as usual with prompt and polite waitresses and waiters. There were lots of people coming and going throughout our time there. Can’t praise the Heaven Scent highly enough, every time I think I’ve had a fantastic meal and every time they seem to raise the bar, fantastic. Will be visiting again very soon.”

Excellent breakfast at a very pleasant café
“Stumbled upon this little cafe by accident as I very rarely travel through Milnathort, but I was keen to find a place for breakfast and chill out, so ate here at about 10.30 on a Monday morning. First thing that struck when entering was how busy the place was (always a good sign I think). And the interior decor seemed quite quirky and upmarket. A friendly member of staff approached with their menu and I was pleased to see they did a full breakfast. Initially, I considered the choice of 5 meat items and 4 non-meat items and then thought that might be too much (plus I had never been here before so didn’t know what to expect.), So, I ordered the choice of 5 items breakfast and was served an excellent breakfast of beautifully freshly cooked, well-presented food that was a pleasure to experience. Coffee was just the way I like too, so the perfect combination. All the staff were friendly and although I live only about 20 minutes away I’ve never had the need to go to Milnathort, until now. This is a place worth taking the time to travel to.

Lovely friendly staff, more than reasonable pricing, child friendly & efficient. Was so good we called back in on our way home today for lunch. Fantastic food and service again.Definitely going to remember this place for future trips north and maybe experience the Heavens Above upstairs next time !! Thank you.”

“Several months ago our daughter gave us a gift voucher for afternoon tea at your cafe.  This morning I telephoned to ask if I could book a table to have afternoon tea at 12.30. Having had such a pleasant response when I phoned I was not surprised to find all the staff very friendly and welcoming.  Our afternoon tea was delicious – we enjoyed every bite so much that we asked a waitress for a bag to take home our macaroons and a couple of pieces of tray bake.  Even although the cafe was busy the staff took time to check that their customers were being looked after.  A lovely atmosphere and we certainly intend to visit again in the future.”

Heavenly afternoon tea
“Your first impression when entering Heaven Scent is the nice friendly atmosphere. There is a buzz about the place and obviously very popular with locals and visitors. We had booked afternoon tea and wow !! what a choice. A large choice of sandwiches, a choice of several types of scone with clotted cream and jam, a wonderful array of gateau to choose from and all that was accompanied with some tray bake (of your choice) and a couple of macaroons. It was all set out beautifully on a large cake stand with salad on the sandwich platter and seasonal fresh fruit on the upper plates with the scones and cakes. This was a real treat and one I would recommend. They do Gift Vouchers so maybe that is an idea for a Christmas gift for someone special.”

“Lovely little cafe with delicious food and very friendly staff. All their food has loads of information about what is in it so if you have an allergy then you are very well catered for here. Diary, gluten, soya, nut etc.  Went with friends who go here a lot with their kids and it was great. We went back in later to get some drinks and cake to take away.  Highly recommend.”

“I went here for lunch with my grandparents. What a lovely place! There was a wide range of food and drink options to suit everyone. Everything was absolutely delicious – they had loads of flavour shots to add to the hot drinks which was a nice touch. The place is decorated nicely and has a homely, friendly feel to it. The staff were lovely – they were chatty and attentive. Will definitely visit again!”

Excellent breakfast
“Dropped in for breakfast in this busy wee café . Not many seats left when we visited . We were met by a friendly and helpful young girl who did not take long to bring a pot of tea to start us off , breakfast followed shortly afterwards freshly cooked and scrumptious ! I particularly enjoyed the link sausage and the bacon all from local suppliers . We took away 2 fruit scones that were just out of the oven ( irresistible ) for later on in the day.”
5 stars, September 2018

Excellence in everything
“We enjoyed many things off of the menu and even took items to go for our travels later in the day! From homemade soups to a sumptuous ham sandwich with a type compote (which I’m not usually a big fan of) – it was just what the doctor ordered! The sandwiches also included healthy sides which we really enjoyed. We also tried the savoury scones and two types of their fresh baked treats. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very at ease when asking for directions to the Heritage walk in neighbouring Kinross and were provided with smiley help from one of the many attentive servers available.  The decor is eclectic and charming and includes a little ‘secret’ garden out back! This was easily one of the best lunches we had in Scotland.”

“Already a favourite place of ours to visit, yesterday we came for the first time with a doggy visitor. We were the only people sitting outside but couldn’t have been made more welcome by all the staff who brought water, biscuits and fuss for said doggy and looked after us amazingly. Soups, savoury scone, tray bakes and coffees, as always, were delicious. Thank you.”

Excellent place to stop if visiting Loch Leven
“Great place. Lived up to our expectations after reading the many 5 star reviews. We got there just before noon on a weekday and it was already filling up so keep that in mind when planning a visit. We were made to feel very welcome, the menu appealed to everyone. There was a bit of a wait for the food but we ordered a lot of varied things and they all came pretty much at the same time. I had the full vegetarian breakfast (all day breakfast!) which comes with your choice of 8 items. Everything was delicious down to the strawberry jam provided with the toast which was included. My wife had the corn fritters (more of a pancake really) and we had a halloumi salad platter which was massive. My daughter said the lentil soup was her best soup yet (she’s 5). My son had a plate of ham, cheese, oat biscuites and fruit. We all enjoyed our food and struggled to finish at all so sadly we had no room left for cake. The friendly guy who was one of the people who served us read our minds and suggested we could get some cake to take away. We spent under £40 for the four of us including the take away cakes. I think that’s good value.”

A birthday treat
“Had an exceptionally warm welcome from Neave on our arrival for our afternoon tea. Albeit we were early she advised that was not an issue and we were seated to a lovely quiet table next to the window. The time was quickly taken up with a quick a tour of the cafe as it had been quiet on our arrival as we loved the quirky decor! We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea and had very attentive service from Sarah too. Presentation of our lunch was amazing and looked too good to eat! Only slight negative was we would like to be able to choose our own tray bake but however on the positive not all establishments give the choice of cakes and sandwiches. We will be back soon and looking forward to trying something different and we will check out the garden when it is a little warmer!”

Perfect. Ticks all the boxes. This is my idea of the perfect coffee shop
“Just wish I could transport this place down to the south of England where I live. There are so many aspect of this place that are perfect. The presentation inside is so welcoming as is the range of food and drinks on offer. We were on a cycle touring holiday and happened on it by chance… What luck as it’s very cycle friendly. With space at the rear in the garden for bikes. As it was a sunny day we were lucky to have a table outside. There was a group of us and we had a selection of soup, sandwiches and drinks. The soup and sandwiches were first class. The sandwich was made with a local homemade bread that was huge. The staff are all very pleasant and made us most welcome. Perfect and I would have no hesitation in highly recommending it.

A super café
“You can always rely on heaven scent for a warm welcome, lovely coffee or tea or soft drinks, a variety of gorgeous home baking or tasty lunches. They’ve really made an effort recently in terms of vegetarian and now vegan food. Their salads are particularly gorgeous, very flavoursome and good value for money. Their kids afternoon teas are extremely chocolatey, my two have never finished one yet! Very family friendly and a lovely secret garden if the weather allows.”

Excellent recommendation
“Was looking for somewhere to go after being at an afternoon event in Kinross with 3 non coeliac friends and had this recommended by a fellow coeliac. Lovely cosy surroundings and a nice garden area where we ate as it was a beautiful sunny day. Lots of choices on the menu, actually quite difficult to decide what to have but chose a grilled haloumi and pineapple sandwich with chilli jam, this was served with some coleslaw, potato salad and green salad. Two friends had the nachos with added chicken and other friend had a loaded flatbread with chicken and mango. All thoroughly enjoyed I also had a pot of tea love the little knitted tea cosys that look like little hats with pom-poms on top and a slice of gf cake. Will certainly recommend to coeliac and non coeliac friends a great find and hope to get back soon. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly a real bonus to the coffee shop. Sorry unable to select ratings not sure why but 5* for service, food and value.”

Such a cute cafe
“I had seen this place on a friends Instagram a few months ago, and screen-shotted it with intentions to visit one day. On Sunday morning I had been playing badminton and myself and my boyfriend planned to go to Loch Leven Larder as we have been before and liked it, however I thought let’s try somewhere new and remembered about this Instagram find. We were definitely not disappointed. The menu is fab, everything on it sounded delicious and such a huge range of stuff. I had the home-made Lentil soup (I love when places don’t go overboard and complicate flavours, it was perfect) and a delicious home made cheese scone. My boyfriend had a halloumi toastie which looked great. After my holiday I will definitely be back to treat myself to some nachos (they sound amazing) and also a cake!! would definitely recommend this very cute find.”

“I re-visited this quaint place after a few years. They have recently changed the menu, and I can’t fault it. The menu was colour coded for vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, etc, which was so helpful as I’m dairy intolerant and my friend is vegetarian. The waiting staff could not have been more helpful. The cost is very reasonable and would thoroughly recommend to all (not just us picky eaters!)”

“Visited for lunch today and for cake last week, hadn’t been for a while. The staff are a fantastic asset to this cafe. Happy, professional, and friendly and willing to help even when busy like it was today. We got the last table and order soup and sandwiches each. The food came quickly and was delicious. Lovely fresh bread and tasty lentil soup, and a large helping of delicious side salad. Last weeks cake was beyond amazing! Superb chocolate cake and the carrot cake is a well known delicacy. “Since being diagnosed with Coeliac disease 7 years ago, I’ve tried several gluten free afternoon teas , some good and some not so good. But I have to say the one I had yesterday was just fabulous. From lovely soft bread for the sandwiches to the wonderful home baked cakes. I was like a kid in a sweet shop, there was so much choice. Everything was delicious and you would never know they were gf and even being able to have a huge scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam was a real treat in itself. Three of us had the afternoon tea (myself the only coeliac) and we all enjoyed it very much, we were so full we all had our slice of gateaux boxed up to take home. I can’t rate this little gem highly enough and we just can’t wait for another excuse to return.”

Excellent cafe
“Recommend by a work colleague after asking about for a decent place for lunch in local area. 1st visit we had to be turned away unfortunately as the place was heaving and we hadn’t booked. Returned the following week after making a booking and glad we did. Food is superb and always good to see a lunch menu that doesn’t follows the usual macaroni, steak pie and chips etc. Portion sizes are generous and food is well presented. Highly recommend the black pudding, bacon and apple sandwich! Will be back ASAP.”

Fabulous experience!
“Was introduced to this gem of a cafe by a close friend. Dropped in for lunch with great expectations and was not disappointed. I had the lentil soup to start with fresh home baked tasting bread. To follow I had a baked potato with cheese and kaleslaw served with salad. The baked potato was hot and fluffy just the way I like it. My friend had the black pudding bacon and poached egg on bread which looked like wholemeal and home baked. It was a very generous portion and very tasty. I had diet irn bru from a glass bottled which was nicely chilled. My friend had coffee. To follow we shared sticky 5toffee cake and maple and pecan cake both which were full of home baked flavour. I had some fruit scones to take away which were very fruity and light again with a home baked flavour. I would not hesitate to recommend this cafe to anyone. I will definitely return with my fiance as they have a wide choice of gluten free options and the staff were so pleasant and helpful.”

Excellent wee find for snack or lunch
I was recently having a work meeting and we arranged it here as was central to where people were travelling from. Lovely wee cafe, managed to get a good corner table for some privacy, and I’m delighted to say they had a good range of fruit teas for a fuzzy non normal tea or coffee drinking person like me. Cakes, sandwiches and the rest of the food all looked great that people were having. Will certainly use again.

Gold Standard
“If the nearby Motorway services is chalk this cosy friendly café is definitely cheese!
They have outlets at Dunfermline Museum and Art Gallery and also at Knockhill all equally good. The staff are well trained and attentive, the offerings fresh and appetising, the cakes are particularly appealing. There is a bike rack and outside seating and they do outside catering. It’s easily found near the village cross with ample free street parking.”

Well worth the diversion
Travelling down from Dundee to Edinburgh there are no pit stops. However we came off the M90 at the signpost Milnathort . We luckily found Heaven Scent, a tea room, coffee shop and restaurant. A great selection of food for lunch, afternoon tea or just scones and cakes. All delicious home baking. The staff are very pleasant helpful and seem happy. Our lunch was very tasty and reasonably priced. Well worth the 5 minute diversion off the motorway. Scotland needs more places like this.

Excellent food and great staff
This is now our second visit here and food and service here is great. All the food is local and fresh and tastes great and there is something for everyone on the menu. My wife is vegetarian and she had plenty to choose from as well. The only small gripe was the Malteser cake which when it came and it was white chocolate, not being a fan of white chocolate I gave it a try and the milk chocolate from the Malteser and the white chocolate on top just didn’t work. My wife tried it as she loves white chocolate and she couldn’t eat it either. But as I say this is probably only a personal choice so don’t let it put you off as the food itself is superb!!!

“I had a party of 6 adults and 3 children 14-9. The kids highlights included pancakes with nutella and bananas, pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and pancakes with sausage and maple syrup. The grown ups had a black pudding bap, french toast with bacon and maple syrup and french toast with smoked salmon and a poached egg (the last looked amazing and caused the most envy but everyone enjoyed their food. With drinks it came to £47 which was less than I expected for what we had. Very nice atmosphere recommended and worth travelling a few miles for (I travelled 326!)”

Afternoon tea for 2
“This is a great wee tea stop in a little village which has great staff and awesome cakes. We had a voucher for afternoon tea for 2. We selected from a nice selection of sandwiches we picked the humus and the mango chicken. Next select a gateau each and a tray bake to share. We picked Victoria sponge and carrot cake and hubby wanted the lemon drizzle and we had that as our sharing tray bake. A great choice again of scone – we picked coconut and blueberry and cherry finishing off with a macaroon. Good selection of tea afternoon blend for hubby and rose grey for me. All the bakes were from local ladies and were very light and tasty. If you are in the area its well worth a stop for a chat, relax and great cake!”

A hidden gem
“Milnathort is off the beaten track, being by-passed by the nearby M90 motorway. Visiting it requires a conscious effort but this is definitely well worth while for a stop-off at the Heaven Scent. It came to us recommended and we dropped in for a most pleasant lunch – home-made soup the way granny used to make it, chunky bread and salad, with pleasant, informal waiting staff. There is also a garden area for eating and drinking and a funky entrance to their upstairs area. If you’re anywhere near Milnathort, be sure not to miss this place.”

Just amazing
I found out about this delightful cafe on the Facebook page Scottish Coeliacs, as the cafe has an extensive range of gluten free items. Since discovering it in April 2017 I have been 6 times….!
I’ve been for breakfast, coffee and cakes and lunch and all have been wonderful. Everyone I have taken with me has thoroughly enjoyed it as well, and I think they have also all been repeat visitors! Particular highlights are the scrambled eggs on toast ( gf bread available too ), the maple and pecan cake, the full breakfast and the outstanding milkshakes. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Best breakfast for miles
“We visited for a small family celebration on a Saturday lunchtime. My parents had been previously and raved about it – I was delighted to find they hadn’t exaggerated! I chose the all day farmer’s breakfast which was beautifully presented (unusually for a breakfast!) and made with top ingredients. The lorne sausage and tattie scone in particular were really good. My Dad & husband had the same, and my mum had black pudding, poached egg and apple on toast which looked fab as well as tasting great. We followed up with cake – it was a celebration after all – my parents both had a perfectly moist lemon drizzle, my husband went with a maple and pecan (similar in look to a carrot cake) and I had chocolate madness which was brilliant: pieces of different chocolate bars dotting a light sponge with rich icing. The sponge made all the difference; heavier and it would have been too much. All this and good coffee to wash it down. The room has a lovely buzz though if I had one criticism, the tables are a wee bit close together and there’s only one loo for the whole of downstairs. That wouldn’t put me off returning though, and I’m really excited to see that there’ll now be a Heaven Scent closer to home in the new Carnegie Library & Galleries.”

“This fabulous little gem of a place is not a vegetarian or vegan cafe but caters brilliantly for both with ease! The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff knowledgeable and attentive. In a good way! They went out of their way to ensure I only had non animal ingredients in my lunch and customised it for me to make that happen. They also had fantastic dairy and egg free chocolate mint brownies too! They also had a big gluten free range.Really really really recommend this place!”

How refreshing
“Friendly, welcoming and a fresh looking menu – not like the multiples. The food was tasty and variations on the menu no problem. Sensible prices and plenty of choice. How wonderful to get a proper teapot and a cosy – well done – loved it all.”

“This gem of a place has gone right to the top of my favourite coffee shops. The best soup I’ve had in ages (lightly spiced carrot and apple), a vast array of top notch baking that even Mary Berry couldn’t top, proper cappuccino, quality delicious menu, extremely friendly staff, lovely decor with the right amount of vintage quirkiness, a secret garden that welcomes dogs….I could go on all day. Heaven Scent indeed-can’t wait for my next visit!

Great, same as always
“Visited here several times over the years as work in the area. Great for a quick takeaway lunch or to relax with friends and sit in. Sadly not tried upstairs yet but hopefully soon. Staff are friendly, cakes are great, food is fresh and I love the coffee :-)”

“Paid my first visit to Heaven Scent this afternoon with my daughter and my parents. What a brilliant, beautiful premises. Due to it being a Bank Holiday, and very busy, we were shown to a table upstairs through the Smeg door – a cute, quirky touch! Between the four of us we had a range of coffees, milkshakes, cakes and black pudding nachos. All of the food looked and tasted delicious. Of particular note was the fact that I needed a gluten free and diary free treat. This is obviously a tall order in some places. Not here though, I had a tasty orange and coconut cake and a soy milk latte. I will definitely be back, and have already passed details on to other friends and relatives who I know appreciate good food in a pretty setting. Well done to all at Heaven Scent!!!”

“I have been a Coeliac since I was 18 months old and live locally to Heaven Scent. I always went there when I was younger because it was one of the few places that catered for coeliacs. Through the years it’s popularity and Gluten Free options have expanded significantly! Couldn’t recommend it enough.”

Kids afternoon tea was great. Fantastic choice of cakes for the grown ups too!”

Also, you have the best selection of gluten free cakes I’ve ever seen. It’s fabulous to have a proper choice of cake rather than the standard gluten free chocolate brownie that seems to be everywhere else. Just Fabulous !!!”

Fantastic find
“Wow what a great find dropped in for lunch the restaurant was really quite packed with a really good ambience. Staff were all really friendly and explained the menu to us. I chose the grilled halloumi with chilli jam and flatbreads and my wife had a baked potato. Both dishes came with a really nice fresh salad and could not be faulted. We finished our lunch by choosing from a really great selection of home baked cakes and tray bakes. My personal favourite was the peppermint tray bake but they all looked delicious so you really could not go wrong. Thoroughly recommend Heaven Scent and we will certainly be returning in the very near future.”

“Mum and I had breakfast. The staff are lovely and friendly, and the atmosphere in the place was really good. There were plenty of customers and everyone appeared to be having a nice time. It’s not just the staff that are friendly and chatting, there were a few guys out on their bikes and even they took time to chat to other people. There was a nice friendly feeling, we’d definitely go back. Breakfast is a nice sized portion and apparently you can ask for a smaller breakfast, too late I’d already ordered the full size plate. It was lovely and warm when it arrived at the table, I hate food that’s bordering on cold before I’ve even started eating it. The coffee was really nice too, not too strong, just right for me. Cakes, what can I say other than spoiled for choice. The place was very busy so I’d suggest if you’re thinking of going there then phone in advance and book a table.”

“My husband and I came for lunch for the first time today. We were greeted by friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. Our food was lovely but what we loved the most was the range of cakes. Full marks and a friendly atmosphere
“Popped in here late morning today with my daughter. We each ordered a lorne sausage roll, plus I ordered a hot chocolate, whilst my daughter ordered a fruit tea. The staff were pleasant and friendly, including the manageress, who is also very efficient at her job. Our wait was not long. The lorne sausage rolls arrived on sizeable rolls with two pieces of lorne sausage on each roll. Now to me that is value for money because I have paid the same price elsewhere for 1 piece of lorne sausage smaller than the pieces served here. The hot chocolate was nice, as was my daughter’s fruit tea. The fruit tea came in a teapot with a tea cosy, now to me this is a nice touch. We noticed that they have a good selection of cakes, and the café in general caters for everyone including those with allergies. All in all enjoyable, made to feel welcome, no negatives to report, and we would certainly return.”

Willy Wonka Lunch
The kids had friends for sleepovers (I’m still recovering!) The weather was miserable so took them here for lunch. We’re upstairs through fridge door – which is just an extension of the cafe but nice quirky touch. The Willy wonka lunch is for kids comes with choice of sandwiches and small pots of fruit/sweets/popcorn and melted chocolate all on a funky mini picnic table. Is served with a milkshake. Kids loved it but expect them to get messy, we had nachos and soup and ciabatta which was both really tasty. Have been a couple of times now and definitely recommend, it is a bit pricey if you don’t get a Groupon/itison but we’ll with a visit the kids will love it.

Best French toast
“My mum and I stopped for breakfast, it was the beautiful lights in the window (it made is very interested into what was lying inside!) . We both had bacon and maple syrup on French toast! But it wasn’t just any French toast, it was brioche French toast! 10/10 it was to die for! There was a perfect ratio of bacon to toast, and every mouthful was bursting with bacony maply goodness! I’m still dreaming of that amazing breakfast now… I shall be back for more!”

Very Quirky & almost enchanting
“Sat nav took us directly outside the cafe & looked lovely from outside with lights in window. We had booked glad we did as was busy so table was reserved. We arrived slightly early but this wasn’t a problem employee told my husband “Go through fridge door & follow the stairs” well as you can imagine I thought husband picked it up wrong. However was actually a fridge door to go through (very enchanting) followed by cheuqered floor very ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Upstairs there were couple of rooms with tables we were placed in room of our own which was fine as had a grumpy baby so was slightly relieved. However will request downstairs to soak in atmosphere. Treated kids to willy wonka chocolate afternoon tea which was Wonderfully presented & kids were definetly not disappointed they want to go back “tomorrow” homemade selection of cakes/traybakes looked amazing. Toilets were immaculate & surprised to see had a supply of nappies & reading material. all staff were very friendly & approachable. Will be back again & us adults will be eating to perfect wee treat.”

Willy Wonka High Tea
“Visited today using yet another itison deal for the kids Willie Wonka High Tea. Booking a table was no bother and having to get to our seating area through a fridge door, yes a fridge door was a great touch. Kids had plenty to ear, and my wife and I had a lovely lunch. Gluten free food was a plenty and very tasty which is a big plus point for me. The waitress that served us was lovely, and seeing how busy the restaurant was, confirmed to me how popular and good a place this was. Will be back for seconds.”

Great cakes!
A great little eating place. Coffee and cake (the cakes are both innovative and reasonably priced AND delicious!) have been our regular purchases but the soups, flatbreads and other lunch time snacks are also tasty and reasonably priced. Have not tried their cooked breakfasts but have seen others’ orders arrive and I must say they look absolutely delicious.

A great place for a unique snack
“My partner and I stopped off at this cafe for a late lunch while traveling up the M90 and would both highly recommend it. The unique sandwich fillings were delicious. I recommend the black pudding, bacon and grilled apple which is something I am going to try at home now. My partner had a halloumi and chilli jam ciabatta, which I had to “try” more than once. They were both reasonably priced for what you get, especially if you choose the soup & sandwich deal. The staff were friendly and the service was swift. The only drawback was that I was too full to have a cake for dessert – a good excuse to come back!”

Amazing service and yummy food
“My wife came here one afternoon following a traumatic morning. The staff were wonderful. Made her feel so welcome, and the guy making the coffee made her latte just the way she liked it. The waitress with the bright red hair and glasses recommended a salted caramel brownie and the jacket potato and both were amazing and she chatted to my wife and made her feel better and laugh. Good sized portions of delicious well made food. There was a lovely blonde waitress who recommended a hot chocolate which was “to die for”. They found her a lovely comfy chair and made her relax. “Very friendly atmosphere with quality service and great menu selection on offer. Already a firm favourite of mine, Heaven Scent has established itself as the preferred choice for all of our friends, family and contemporaries. Not only is it a great coffee shop, it also provides mouthwatering lunches and even full dining by virtue of its appropriately-named Heavens Above restaurant. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Certainly far superior to more expensive, less customer friendly, impersonal alternatives in the area. If you don’t know to whom I’m referring, even better! I wish Heaven Scent every success – the staff (and menu!) deserve it.”

Surprise 90th birthday party
“Just to say thanks very much for all your help with dad’s birthday. He had a lovely evening as did everyone who came along.
Heaven Scent private hire, June 2016″

Nice cafe, good food
This cafe seems to be equally keen on customers who sit in and those wanting takeaways. I went for lunch and there was a choice of soups (and a choice of breads to go with the soup), and to follow some tempting choices such as bacon and smoked cheese tart. The coffee was good and there was an excellent selection of cakes on a board which was headed “Cake is the answer. Who cares what the question is!”. I have a very enjoyable meal, nicely presented and served.

Amazing
“Visited on a rainy Tuesday a little earlier than our table was booked for. Staff were amazing and we were very lucky to be seated in “the study”. Ideal for 3 adults 4 children and a baby. Our own private dining room! Food was amazing, home baking to die for. Service spot on! Will definitely return.”

Well worth a wee detour
“Visited to meet a friend for breakfast. The place is stylish and modern with a nice relaxing atmosphere. Service was excellent; friendly and attentive with out being overbearing. I had pancakes with bacon and the portion was a good size and the taste was excellent. Nice coffee too. Well worthy taking the short journey off the motorway if you’re passing – a much better option than the dreary Kinross services.”

Great afternoon tea
“We had a very good afternoon tea at Heaven Scent, home made bread for the sandwiches, the opportunity to select the cakes of your choice, which were then presented on the traditional cake stand. Staff were friendly and welcoming.”

Fabulous lunch
“I went here for lunch with my mother and honestly it was a worthwhile trip. The staff make the effort to talk to you, have a laugh with you and give you their personal recommendations whilst taking your order. For starters, my mother and I shared the Goat’s Cheese and Salsa nachos which definitely had a kick to it, but we still ended up fighting over the crumbs. However, this plate was priced at £6.50 which I thought was a little high but I would certainly pay for again. Then, I had a mozzarella, sun dried tomato and pesto on a toasty baguette which came with some crisps and a bit of salad. Honestly, I think there was too much pesto in my sandwich, but that was my personal taste. The quality of the food was somewhere you couldn’t find anywhere else 🙂 Lastly, I had a slice of Chocolate and Beetroot Madness cake which filled me right up. The portion size was just right for the price you were paying. I loved the atmosphere of the cafe, the fact that most of their food was sourced from local suppliers and the little perks such as my milkshake arriving in a Mason jar and the food on dainty plates with wooden boards underneath. I certainly can’t wait to eat at this cafe again and would highly recommend this place to anyone.”

“We visited today with friends for an afternoon coffee and cake. A fine selection of home style baking was found but presented us with a difficult choice as to what to have. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I would recommend stopping in next time you visit Milnathort.”

Birthday treat
“Heaven Scent is a lovely place with a very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. I had a delicious banana maple scone and a cappuccino for a birthday breakfast. Milnathort is a quiet & quaint village as well. Worth a visit.”

Delicious baking
“Friendly welcome and shown to a table. We were there for lunch on Hallowe’en and this was reflected in the menu descriptions and the food- pumpkin soup, tomato and brains(Brie that is) tart, toffee apple scones, a black cake to pick out a few examples. Staff were dressed for the occasion which I thought was a nice touch. I would imagine they do this sort of thing on other occasions.”

Pleasant coffee shop
“Called in for coffee and cakes yesterday (Sunday). Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and good range of cakes, etc. My Son had the lentil soup, which he thought was very tasty. My Son and Daughter both had cakes which they also enjoyed. I had a fruit scone with the best raspberry jam I have ever had in a café. On enquiry, I was pleased to learn that the jam was locally made (Perthshire) and that the café had jars for sale. Would certainly go back.”

From strength to strength
“We have been using Heaven Scent (the name came from the flower shop which formerly occupied the premises) for some time now but not regularly and the quality of the food and services has improved considerably over the years. Yesterday I had the most sublime piece of coffee and walnut cake I have tasted for many months (and believe me I eat a lot of coffee and walnut cake!) and the accompanying coffee was tasty and hot.”

Heaven Scent indeed!
“Lovely coffee shop in the middle of a village, easy parking. If you are driving up the M90, do yourself a favour and take a short detour and eat here. Ambitious well executed menu for a village coffee shop, allergies well catered for. This place deserves your custom!”

Out of this Kingdom of Fife
“Had a really lovely lunch. Both my friend and I had the soup and sandwich offer, some very nice homemade soup and the sandwich filling choices had some imagination and variety, FAR from cheese, cheese and ham or tuna!!! The staff were very attentive without being intrusive, my friend from Liverpool did mistake one of the waitresses for having a Scottish accent, however it would appear she was actually from ‘Burnley’ I think, highly amused and the waitress took no offence!! Then came the cakes a great selection of homemade delights, think half of our £30 bill comprised of a selection to take away, really enjoyed the Victoria Loaf!! All in all will definitely make the trip from Dunfermline again!!!”

Superb evening with 22 of our friends (private hire)
“The warm welcome, fast , efficient service, beautifully presented and tasty food meant we had a superb evening. I have had lots of feedback from guests – all positive. There seems to be enthusiasm to have an end of season bash it was such a success. Please pass on my thanks to the whole team. I would have no hesitation recommending Heaven Scent and suspect we will be booking again at the end of rugby season!”

Best bacon rolls
“Visited here for a little sustenance whilst completing a bike ride. The bacon roll I ordered was just out of this world. The bacon was just divine ( and I am picky when it comes to bacon!) and the roll just melted in the mouth. Washed down with an equally superb mug of tea. Will be back soon to sample some cakes next time.”

The perfect lunch spot surprise
“My wife took me on a magical mystery tour to celebrate some very good news that we had had.
That, and my new haircut. She took me to Heaven Scent. Hard to overstate how good it was. The freshest of bread with a weekly special, which I chose – a lovely coarse granary; a gorgeous sandwich which was just right and they changed to filling for me from what was on the menu; and a lovely branded tin mug of the smoothest, richest lentil soup. Portions were perfectly judged. Not too much, not too little, but just right for lunch.”

Best café in the area
“Regular visitor to both Heaven Scent and Heavens Above. At Heavens Above, afternoon tea with a twist is quirky and fun! Traditional afternoon tea is delicious and so filling! Worth the money for sure. A mocktail is a must to try – so fruity and refreshing. Absolutely love them. Heaven Scent is my favourite cafe in the area. I drive past all the other cafes in Kinross to go to Heaven Scent. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Great lunch time menu with a variety of fillings on different types of breads/sandwiches etc.  The banana milkshake is one of the best things you will taste, not to mention the peppermint slice and signature carrot cake. Absolutely amazing. A wee cake type treat is a must when you are visiting Heaven Scent. Best scones, traybakes and home baking around.  I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!!!”

Sooo good
“My two friends and I visited here in July. We all had the lentil soup which was the best soup we’ve ever tasted ! Followed by toasted ciabbata with salad and crisps. Yumyum we tried the home made carrot cake and OMG it was delicious! You have to try it here! Even the pots of tea come with a knitted tea cosy ☺. We loved how all the cups and plates were mismatched. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to go back. Well done!”

Something for everyone
“Greeted by super friendly and attentive staff…Coffee and sandwiches perfect, plenty of choice on the menu. BUT the cakes, its impossible not to have one, most are gluten free and all are home made by local ladies mmmm How do you choose?? I was recommended to try the carrot cake and yes it really was the best I have ever had… perfect .. I was fortunate to meet Andrew Scott, the man behind both Heaven Scent and Heavens Above and have a show round and to hear the exciting plans for the future, to create an outdoor area. Well done Andrew you have created a wonderful place for families, couples and businesses. I highly recommend a visit for business or pleasure or both.”
